Lincoln Memorial

Congress incorporated the Lincoln Monument Association in 1867. Henry Bacon is the architect of the Greek Doric architecture, built in 1914-1922 to honor the 16th President who preserved the Union. Daniel Chester French is the sculptor of the 19' high masterpiece.
